The opening Prelude explores the rich tapestry of part-writing that is indicative of the Late Italian Baroque style.  This is followed by \u003cspan class=\"SpellE\"\u003eCiaconna\u003c\/span\u003e which is a continuous set of variations on a constant bass.  Cleverly, \u003cspan class=\"SpellE\"\u003eDall’Abaco\u003c\/span\u003e alters the bass line figurations yet preserves the intrinsic harmony.  This is a beautiful work that familiarises players with a number of textures found in Baroque music.
