How do you check second-hand violas for quality?
Every second-hand viola traded in to Simply for Strings is carefully serviced, repaired, and quality-checked by our expert workshop team. This ensures that each instrument meets our professional standards before it’s offered for sale.
Do pre-owned violas come with a warranty?
Yes. Simply for Strings provides a six (6) month warranty on all second-hand instruments and bows, covering defects in materials and construction. Please note that second-hand cases are not included in this warranty.
What is the benefit of buying a "played-in" second-hand viola?
A played-in beginner viola has already settled, letting the tonewoods resonate fully for a richer sound. While it may show some scratches from previous owners, it offers exceptional value and is a sustainable choice for players.
Can I see the repair history of a used viola?
Detailed repair histories are not readily available. However, our workshop team can assist you with a hands-on inspection before purchase and point out any visible repairs or maintenance that may have been performed.
Do you buy used violas from the public?
No, we do not purchase violas from the public. We do, however, offer a trade-in program for violas originally purchased from Simply for Strings, provided they are in good condition, when you are buying a new instrument.
